Automatic system for neutralizing biological liquid waste, with permanent conformity monitoring

The project proposes to design and build a four-stage waste neutralization equipment, (smaller in size than a household washing machine) which is permanently connected to the medical laboratory analyzers thus providing a continuous neutralization process. The four stages of neutralization consist of

• Chemical treatment
• Low-heat thermal process using high frequency technology
• Ultra-violet irradiation
• PH adjustment

Waste entering into the neutralization equipment will be moved continuously through this four-stage process and then released to the hospital waste line. Intelligent sensors will permanently monitor each phase of the process and make real time decisions regarding pumps speed, temperature – time optimization, etc. All sensor readings will be uploaded into the cloud system where with the help of Artificial Intelligence, predictions will be made on component wearing and failure, to minimize equipment down time and optimize maintenance activities. Time based conformity reports can then be generated for customers for their internal and external audits.
